City_Space_Flux (CSF) constitutes an interdepartmental research unit aiming to promote knowledge, innovative research and pilot practices on topics that focus on the strong linkages between spatial and transport planning. It has been formed in 2018 by members from the School of Spatial Planning and Development and the School of Architecture of the Faculty of Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, while collaborating with several external research members of different disciplines. CSF special emphasis is on cities and the interactions between urban dynamics, city structure, urban mobility and flows of any character. Its members have had a long research as well as professional experience on the study and evaluation of urban and transport planning projects and policies, sustainable mobility, urban regeneration, historical evolution and transformation of cities, cultural heritage enhancement and sustainable tourism, integrating the spatial, transport and environmental dimensions. The impact of climate change and other multiple crises on the sustainability and resilience of cities as well as the exploration of participatory practices in planning and new forms of urban governance are also at the heart of the group's research interests.
